How Bulk Fly Ash Delivery Works
Fly ash is transported and delivered in pneumatic bulk tanker trucks — the same equipment used to deliver Portland cement. At the delivery site, fly ash is blown pneumatically from the tanker into:
- Cement silos at ready-mix concrete plants
- Temporary storage silos on construction sites
- Direct application spreader trucks for soil stabilization projects
- Bulk storage bins at industrial facilities
Standard bulk tanker loads are 25–27 tons. Multiple loads can be scheduled for large-volume projects. Hasten Chemical coordinates delivery timing with your project schedule to avoid delays.
Minimum Orders and Pricing
Hasten Chemical supplies fly ash on a bulk tanker basis — full truckload quantities only. Pricing is based on product class (C or F), delivery location, and order volume. Class C vs. Class F — Which Do You Need?
Both fly ash classes are available for bulk delivery, and the right choice depends on your application:
- Class C fly ash — Best for soil stabilization, fly ash treated base (Item 265), and concrete SCM replacement where self-cementing properties are needed. Most common choice for TxDOT highway projects.
- Class F fly ash — Best for ready-mix concrete workability improvement, oilfield well cementing, and specialty concrete applications where low-calcium fly ash is specified.
